The two honorary officers and the committee were thanked for their continued hard work for the association. The Chairman recorded thanks to Kelvin Donkin; the association's web-site manager who's excellent work has contributed massively to the recent success of the association. The Chairman reminded the meeting about working party attendance stating that together with being essential to good sport the work parties are good fun and an excellent way to learn the waters. The Chairman thanked Sam for his excellent fund raising work with the raffle.
5. ELECTION OF OFFICERS
Tom Storey Chairman, Ian Hardy Hon. Treasurer, Bob Sawdon Hon. Secretary, Committee; Peter Conde, Alan Bull and Darrell Shimmin was re-elected en-masse by unanimous vote.
6. ANY OTHER BUSINESS
Ian Hardy enquired about use of the river Dove and reminded the meeting that we are paying for and maintaining a fishery that appears to be little used and should we consider releasing the fishery. Richard I'anson stated that he had recently walked the stretch above the YTAA water and that the EA had carried out some very "sensible" work improving the Dove in general. Richard Pulleyn proposed that the Dove is quality water and that YTAA should keep it in its portfolio, this was unanimously agreed.
Richard I'anson had sent in a written proposal considering the purchase of a weed cutter. Richard outlined his proposal to the meeting. Use, cost, storage and maintenance were discussed. Norman West informed the meeting that he had experience with weed cutters at the Ripon AA and that they are not a successful solution to weed control. Norman reported that keeping the batteries charged and maintaining the system generally negated any benefits gained. Several members spoke suggesting that with sufficient hands present the rope, chain and boat method is the best solution. There was no agreement to further pursue a weed cutter.
Sam Seago had very kindly once again organised a fund raising raffle. Thanks are recorded to Sam for his on-going support and generosity to the club. The committee and members had donated many prizes; Sam's raffle raised £140.00 for the club's coffers. There being no further business the Chairman closed the 2015 AGM at 21:00hrs.
